MLM Payout Software Faces a New Standard as Young Living Adds Weekly Commission Payouts

By Oleksandr Honcharov, CEO at FlawlessMLM

Young Living now offers weekly commission payouts to its independent Brand Partners through a new digital wallet called YL Wallet. The company announced the change on August 1 at its Awaken Tour in Calgary, with the rollout starting in Canada. Operators still running monthly cycles on their MLM payout software should expect distributors to ask for the same payout speed.

What Happened

According to PayQuicker's August 6 press release, Young Living moved from monthly-only commission payouts to weekly options. PayQuicker, a global payouts orchestration platform, powers the new program. Five days earlier, on August 1, the company had announced it in Calgary.

The YL Wallet gives Brand Partners a branded debit card and a mobile wallet for spending their commissions. Canada comes first, and the release gives no dates for other markets.

Melissa Bishop, Young Living's CFO, said the company is "always looking for meaningful ways to improve the Brand Partner experience." She added that weekly options speed up access to earnings and give partners more say in how they spend them.

Why This Matters for the MLM Industry

PayQuicker's release calls monthly payment cycles a source of unnecessary delay between a sale and its commission. It presents shorter cycles as a way to improve engagement and satisfaction. That framing makes payout speed a retention lever.

Vendor data shows the demand is growing.

The figure also covers gig work and clinical trials, and it is the vendor's own number. Even so, it points to payout speed becoming standard infrastructure.

What This Means for MLM Payout Software: FlawlessMLM's Take

Across 400+ projects, we consistently see compensation engines designed around one month-end calculation. Payout logic follows the same rhythm, so weekly cycles mean reworking the engine itself. Changing a schedule setting does not change when a commission becomes payable.

The core change is separating calculation from payout. A commission is earned on a sale and sits in a pending balance until the return window closes. That window shrinks under weekly cycles, so refund and clawback rules must be defined before the first weekly run.

Our MLM software connects 9+ fiat payment systems. It also supports multi-currency and KYC through Sumsub. Those integrations give a starting point for faster cycles, but each market still needs its own payout rules.

Companies that recruit in the same markets as larger brands cannot treat weekly payouts as a premium feature. Weekly cycles do not suit every network, so a company with high refund rates should lengthen its hold period first. Plan the change as an engine project with its own owner and test plan. Contact our team to design a flexible commission payout architecture that balances fast payout cycles with robust refund protection for your network.

What MLM Companies Should Do Now

  1. Map your payout calendar. Count the days between a sale and the commission payment. That number is your baseline for any shorter cycle.
  2. Split calculation from payment. Run commission calculation on its own schedule. Let payout release follow a separate approval step.
  3. Write holdback and clawback rules. Define how long commissions stay pending and what happens after a refund. Do this before shortening the cycle.
  4. Check payout rails by market. Confirm local currencies, wallet options and KYC status for each country you pay in.
  5. Pilot in one market. Young Living began in Canada, so start with one country and expand once payments settle cleanly. If you are launching an MLM company, build the weekly cycle in from day one.

What is MLM payout software?

MLM payout software turns earned commissions into payments. It applies hold rules first, then sends funds to the distributor through a payment system or wallet. It connects the compensation plan to the distributor's account.

Why are MLM companies moving to weekly commission payouts?

Distributors get earnings sooner and can cover expenses or reinvest faster. Companies use payout speed to support engagement and retention, as Young Living's move shows. The trade-off is a shorter window to handle returns and errors.

How does MLM commission payout software handle weekly cycles?

It calculates commissions on a rolling schedule and keeps them pending until return windows close. It then releases approved balances through a payment system or wallet. Clawback rules cover refunds that arrive after payment.

Can an MLM platform pay commissions to a wallet or in crypto?

Yes, if the platform integrates the right payment rails. FlawlessMLM platforms connect 9+ fiat payment systems and a Crypto Gateway covering Tron, ETH, BSC and BTC. FlawlessMLM also supports KYC through Sumsub.
