Binary in MLM company. How does binary marketing plan work.

Binary plan is one of the basic marketing plans used in network marketing. It is a type of matrix marketing, but due to its individual characteristics, it should be considered separately. Binary is characterized by rapid growth, which allows you to quickly grow your MLM structure. Let's take a closer look at this type of marketing plan.

What is a binary plan?

Binary is characterized by a structure with two legs ("left leg", "right leg"), where each new distributor is placed in the left or right branch. One branch is called the strong leg ("Power Leg"), the other is considered the weak leg ("Profit Leg").

How does binary work?

In companies with a binary compensation plan, each new partner who joins the company becomes the mentor of two subsequent agents. Newcomers are added to the open slot of the next participant in the structure, regardless of who brought them into the company. This principle is known as the "spillover system."

How are commissions calculated?

In a binary MLM plan, bonus calculations depend on the sales volume. To receive commissions, the turnover must be evenly distributed across the two "legs" of your structure. Usually, the proportions are divided as 40% to 60%, but the most democratic companies allow a ratio of 30% to 70%. If the sales proportions are incorrect, you lose commissions from the entire turnover of the structure.

The binary commission is calculated at a rate of 5-10% of the lowest sales volume of the weaker leg. In the company's marketing, there may be a rule that bonuses are paid only starting from the minimum turnover (for example $100). If people in the structure generate turnover less than the specified amount, bonuses are not accrued.

For convenience, let's assume that all participants in the structure make monthly purchases of $100. The network's group turnover of 23 people is $2,300. If the company paid 5% of $2,300 - the leader's income would be $115. However, binary conditions imply that profits are earned from the sales of the weaker leg, where 10 people are located. Their group turnover is $1,000, and your income = 5% of $1,000 = $50.

Correct calculation of compensation size considering your company's rules can be done in a binary calculator.

In pure binary marketing, four types of bonuses are often used, which enhance the stability of the network structure and activate teams.

1. Referral bonus (sponsor bonus, joining bonus) - the profit a user receives by attracting new members to the company.

2. Sales volume commissions are accrued from the turnover of the branch that showed the lower result.

3. Cycle Closing Bonus - one-time, fixed reward paid when all participants in the structure have achieved a specific turnover.

4. Structure Closing Bonus - the profit that an MLM leader receives after closing a structure.

Advantages of the binary plan

1. Spillover system. Participants get the impression that the system generates income for them automatically.

2. Dynamic company growth. Each participant needs to recruit only two new members, which leads to faster network expansion compared to other plans. Distributors have the opportunity to reach significant income relatively quickly.

Disadvantages of the binary plan

1. Probability of passive distributors appearing. Once they have invited two acquaintances, distributors may stop working, earning income for their inactivity. To avoid such an outcome, bonus burning is provided.

2. Low resistance to destabilizing factors. Despite all the ease, dynamics, and large earnings, it is important to carefully plan ways to stabilize marketing. In its pure form, similar to a matrix, binary marketing may be short-lived and not withstand "the slightest stresses".

Extending the life of a binary scheme can be done in several ways:

1. Introduce restrictions on the number of binary levels. When the allowed number of levels is reached, spillover* occurs, and the leader starts developing the structure from scratch. Meanwhile, they continue to receive certain rewards from the existing closed structure.

* spillover effects, also known as side effect; accompanying effect, spillover effect

2. Combine with other marketing. Hardly any stable working structure uses any specific type of marketing plan in its "pure" form. Binary is often used as a component of more complex network structures, namely:

a). as part of the company's hybrid marketing;

Hybrid marketing can combine elements of linear, matrix, and step marketing plans. It includes the advantages and eliminates the disadvantages of "basic" types of marketing plans. Developing such a marketing plan requires deep knowledge of basic types, thorough development, and testing.

In one of the first MLM companies, Amway, linearity is embodied in partner levels. The matrix is formed from levels and encourages people to attract new partners. The step plan is observed in assigning ranks and granting corresponding bonuses. The minimum reward for distributors is 3% of personal and 3% of group turnover. The maximum is 9% of personal and 9% of group turnover.

b). as one of the company's marketing types, which works for separately accruing individual bonuses.

The marketing of the Radost company (radost.vip) is exemplary. 83.33% of the company's total profit goes to the affiliate program, which is distributed across 8 types of bonuses. The payouts of these bonuses occur according to different types of marketing: linear, matrix, and binary. Let's consider how the company specifically uses binary. It is applied in the allocation of bonuses through the global matrix and rank achievement bonuses.

Global Matrix Bonus - rewards partners based on a structure up to 12 levels deep from all participants below them, corresponding to the first activation of their account. The global matrix is a unified binary structure where each partner enters and occupies a place based on time. In the binary, there is a quarterly compression condition (positions of partners who do not confirm their activity within three months are automatically removed from the global matrix).

Rank Achievement Bonus - a one-time bonus paid upon reaching a specific rank. It is awarded based on the binary user structure, where every even personally invited individual goes to the left branch, and every odd one goes to the right.

Thus, in company marketing, binary marketing and linear with matrix marketing meet with joy.

Conclusion

When applied correctly, a binary marketing plan can provide a company with rapid growth in its structure. We recommend using binary as a component of a more complex marketing strategy to take advantage of its benefits and eliminate its drawbacks. Many well-known network companies with multimillion turnovers successfully apply it as part of their marketing plan.
