How to get out of a pyramid scheme? The first step is recognizing that you are in one. If your income depends almost entirely on recruiting new members rather than selling a product to real customers, you are likely in a pyramid scheme. Once you recognize it, stop recruiting, stop buying inventory, and cut your losses as quickly as possible.

**Steps to Exit**

*   Stop recruiting immediately. Do not bring anyone else into the scheme.
*   Stop making purchases. Cancel any auto-ship orders or recurring payments.
*   Read your contract. Check for cancellation terms, refund policies, and buyback clauses. Many jurisdictions require companies to buy back unsold inventory.
*   Document everything. Save emails, receipts, contracts, and screenshots of income claims made to you.
*   Report the scheme. File a complaint with the FTC, your state attorney general, or the equivalent consumer protection agency in your country.
*   Talk to your recruits. If you brought people in, let them know what you have learned. They deserve the same information.
