Bonus pay works by adding extra compensation to base pay when specific performance triggers are met. In corporate roles, bonuses are typically annual and tied to individual or company performance. In MLM and network marketing, bonus pay is the primary income mechanism and flows weekly or monthly through the compensation plan based on personal sales, recruitment, and downline activity.

**How bonus pay works in MLM**

*   **Triggered by qualifying activity** — minimum personal volume, recruitment, rank advancement, customer retention.
