# How Does Binary MLM Work?

Binary MLM works by structuring each distributor's downline into two legs (left and right) and paying commissions based on the volume of the weaker leg. Excess volume from the strong leg typically carries over to the next pay cycle.

**The binary MLM workflow**

*   **Two frontline positions** — every distributor enrolls exactly two people directly, one in each leg.
*   **Spillover and spillunder** — additional sponsored distributors are placed in the legs by the distributor or auto-spilled below.
*   **Volume tracking** — sales by anyone in the left or right leg add to that side's business volume.
*   **Pay cycle calculation** — at week's end, the system identifies the weaker leg and pays a percentage of that volume.
*   **Carryover or flush** — most plans carry excess strong-leg volume forward; some flush it weekly to control payouts.

**Definition:** Binary MLM works through a weekly pay cycle that calculates commissions on the lesser leg of each distributor's two-leg downline. The plan rewards balanced growth and rapid duplication, and uses carryover, flushing, and capping rules to protect company profit margins while keeping distributor income predictable enough to maintain motivation.

The binary plan works best when distributors focus on placing strong builders in each leg rather than randomly recruiting under one side. Balance equals income.
